About The Software Brief

The Software Brief is an independent publication that helps you decide which software is actually worth your money, before you spend it.

We're a small team of analysts who buy, install, and use the tools we cover. We don't sell our own software, so we have no reason to push you toward anything that won't help you. Our job is simple: test honestly, explain clearly, and save you from wasting money on the wrong tool.

How we review

Every review follows the same process. We get hands-on with the product (usually for at least a week), put it up against the obvious alternatives, and write down the genuine pros and cons, including the things we wish were better. Then we give a clear verdict and a rating out of five. If a product doesn't earn its rating, it doesn't get it.

Editorial independence

The Software Brief is reader-supported. When you buy through some of the links on our site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That commission never changes a score or a verdict, we'd rather lose a sale than mislead you. You can read the full affiliate disclosure any time.

Who's behind it

The Software Brief is published by Zepniyan Labs LLC, a registered Wyoming company based in Sheridan, WY, USA. You can verify our business registration in the official Wyoming Secretary of State records. Reviews are written by Luna Hendry, our lead software reviewer.
